Technical-grade Sheet Glass

High quality flat glass and plate glass

On this page, you will find information about our technical grade sheet-glass, flat glass and plate glass materials. These sheet-glass materials are fabricated by using the float-glass process or they are drawn into glass-sheets. They are usually clear and transparent and feature smooth and fire polished surfaces. All our sheet-glass materials are available with different standard thicknesses and at a low nominal sheet thickness tolerance. If you are in search for even thinner transparent glass materials, please take a look on our thin glass web site.

In order to use our sheet-glass for optical applications, in most instances the high quality materials do not even require an additional expensive mechanical polishing process, because most of them offer an excellent surface quality and flatness. Almost any of these transparent glasses can be CNC-cut very precisely, which is resulting in considerable cost savings to the customer and lower the cost of the end-product. Nearly all of the listed technical quality flat glass types feature a very smooth surface, a good optical flatness, a display grade surface quality plus a very low micro roughness. Especially the micro roughness of our flat sheet-glass materials is often better than what can be achieved by a standard mechanical polishing process. Hence, many materials shown in this category are the best choice for large production series. They offer both, a superior glass quality and the cost control required. Below, please find the links to our technical grade flat sheet-glass types that are part of our extensive glass delivery program. Please follow the links to the respective data-sheets to view the specifications and to view the typical optical transmission curves of each sheet-glass listed below:

Selected White Float Glass

Our selected float glass is an universal, high quality, low-cost flat sheet glass with a reduced iron content. It is a technical glass with very good optical properties selected for surface quality and flatness. The glass is available at 0,40 mm up to 3 mm thickness. more...

BOROFLOAT® Borosilicate Glass

BOROFLOAT® is a clear appearing, highly transparent, technical borosilicate glass material with very good optical transmittance, great thermal properties plus a very good chemical resistance. It is highly transparent even in the upper UV-wavelength range. more...

B 270 - Superwite

The very clear crown glass B 270 is a drawn sheet glass material with a very good performance and high purity used for universal optical applications. more...

1737F Low Alkali Glass

1737F is a virtually alkali-free aluminosilicate glass composition. The technical glass can withstand the rigorous thermal cycles of poly-silicate transistor processes. Hence, it is often used for semiconductor applications. It is a replacement- and successor material for 7059F sheet glass. more...

EAGLE2000 Lightweight Low Alkali Glass

EAGLE2000 is a lightweight, virtually alkali-free, material with an alkaline earth boro-aluminosilicate glass composition. The technical glass is used for AMLCD and COG (chip on glass) applications. It features a very good surface quality and a good flatness. more...

7059 Barium-Borosilicate Glass

7059 is a near-zero-alkali baria alumina borosilicate glass that exists in sheets. The technical glass composition offers special electrical characteristics often used in the semi-conductor industry. more...

If you cannot find the sheet- or flat-glass type you are looking for in the list above, please use our inquiry form, send us your inquiry by e-mail or just give us a call. We stock and process many more exotic technical flat-glass materials that possibly might not be mentioned above.

Why is there no shopping cart, no price and no standard size on our website?

The simple answer is: We don't need a shopping cart and standard sizes. We are as quick with the manufacturing of custom sized parts as most trading companies typically are with their few and limited standard sizes. You will find a RFQ button in each of our data-sheets to conveniently request for a quotation for the sheet-glass you need. You usually get your price quote as well as the the delivery of custom-sized sheet-glass even at large quantities within an extraordinarily short period of time. For most materials even our 48h-Express Service is available to you.
