Selected white float glass is a universal, economically priced glass with excellent optical characteristics. The white appearing float glass has a low iron composition and is used in various optical applications.
The good optical performance from the visible to the infrared range, and the high purity with almost no inclusions, make the glass a very versatile material, that proofed to be able to substitute expensive materials in many optical applications in the past. The production of thin and very thin glass by the high quality micro float process, guarantees a good flatness, extreme low deviation from the nominal thickness within each batch, and a very low standard thickness tolerance compared to other glass manufacturing processes. A large selection of standard thicknesses beginning at 0,55mm and a good surface quality allow an efficient fabrication of many different optical components based on this low cost material.
