  • Ultraviolet light sources
  • Ultraviolet mirror systems
  • Medical applications
  • UV-curing

Our SEA-UV protected aluminum broadband front surface mirror coating consists of an aluminum layer and a very thin protective SiO2 (quartz) overcoating. Due to the good UV-transmission and the low absorption of the thin SiO2 layer within the UV-range, the desired high UV-reflection of the protected aluminium coating can be retained. Compared to soft and sensitive unprotected bare aluminum coatings, our protected aluminum coatings are harder, more durable and more resistant, although still more scratch sensitive than our SEA-VIS mirrors. Our protected aluminum coatings are used as ultraviolet mirrors or broadband mirrors, featuring high reflection from the ultraviolet to the infrared light range. By adding dielectric overcoatings the reflection of our protected aluminum front surface mirrors can be modified and increased at special wavelengths or reflection ranges.
