MACOR® machinable glass ceramic is a white, odorless material with exceptional properties. The opaque MGC glass ceramic from Corning allows a quick and
a precise manufacturing of complex workpieces. A high continuous use at temperature of 800°C and a peak temperature of up to 1.000°C of Macor machinable glass ceramic opens up a wide variety of interesting applications. Macor has zero porosity and is nonwetting. The machinable glass ceramic does not deform and is not outgassing which allows the use in vacuum environments. Macor MGC is an excellent insulator at high voltages and various frequencies even at high operating temperatures.
