Our superior quality silver-coated SHP front surface mirrors feature a high and broadband optical reflection of > 98 % for visible light and maintain high reflectivity up to the infrared. Unlike the case with dielectric mirror optics, our optical silver coatings' reflectivity is almost independent of the incident light's polarization. The high-quality glass substrate of our SHP mirror allows for high imaging quality. As a result of their excellent optical properties, our silver-metal front surface mirrors work in many medical applications that require high-reflection mirror optics at a reasonable cost. Many laser applications are possible with the SHP. Thanks to the thin dielectric layer deposited above the reflective metallic mirror layer, they are well protected from oxidation.
We are not limited to a few mirror sizes, as we are specialized in rapidly manufacturing customized dimensions. Even custom-sized mirror optics in large quantities usually take less than a week to ship if required. This way, the mirror fits perfectly into your application without any extra time and effort needed to adapt your application to a fixed-sized catalog product. Because silver is a relatively soft coating, we do not recommend using silver-coated front surface mirrors in harsh environments, where they may be subject to potential scratching or abrasion. For applications with increased mechanical stress, we have developed our SHP-D mirrors, which offer similar optical properties to our SHP silver front surface mirror but have a less sensitive mirror surface.
