Optical coating used for neutral splitting of light or laser radiation or for defined damping of a light source. Beamsplitters can either be based on dielectric or metallic coating systems. The splitting ratio can be adjusted to customer’s specification by modifying the dielectric layers or layer the thickness. The backside can be antireflection coated to minimize unwanted secondary reflection and to prevent energy loss at the backside of the beam splitter. Dielectric optical filter devices with high transmission in the visible and high reflection in the infrared are predominantly used to block heat or IR-radiation. These filter coatings can also be used as transparent reflectors in the infrared spectrum such as near infrared laser diodes. Electrically conductive thin film coating with good transmittance in the visible and with a defined electrical sheet resistance. The sheet resistance and the transmission depend on the film thickness and can be customized. Sheet resistances can be in the range of 5Ω/sq. up to 10kΩ/sq. The backside can be anti-reflective coated to reduce secondary reflections. ITO-films with a low surface resistivity can be used as infrared reflector optics.
