Our dielectric beamsplitters divide incident light into a transmitted and a reflected light portion. The input surface of our DST plate beamsplitter series is vacuum deposited with a neutral, dielectric thin film coating, which determines the splitting ratio of the beamsplitter. The second beamsplitter surface is broadband antireflection coated, to drastically minimize unwanted secondary reflection, to prevent a ghost image and effectively reduce surface reflection losses. Because of the non-metallic construction, our 45°-beamsplitter plates are more durable than most metallic beamsplitters. The dielectric multilayer coating construction shows a very low absorption in the operating range, resulting in a very low loss of light energy. This is a considerable advantage over metallic beamsplitters that often absorb and lose a large amount of useful light or laser energy. Our beam splitter coatings can be customized for other transmissions, reflections and the operating wavelength ranges. Please use our coating inquiry form to request your customized beamsplitter coating.
